Ally Dench is well known within the community as a leader of excellence, bringing more than 30 years’ experience across all levels of government and the not-for-profit sector including Wollondilly Shire Council, The Ageing and Disability Department of NSW, Uniting Care Burnside and numerous other diversity and inclusion organisations to her present role as Executive Director of the Office of Local Government. She is experienced in leading successful teams to develop and implement initiatives in direct care, service management, and policy development.
Ally was a major driver for local governments’ contribution to the delivery of the Western Sydney City Deal and named one of five Local Government Top 50 Public Sector Women in 2018.
Ally has a human-centered focus and a desire to develop the capacity and capability of local government through diversity initiatives and the integrated service planning and provision. Her personal and professional philosophy is what she does counts, and her values and innovative approach to leveraging ideas lead to amazing outcomes for our communities.
